Server stats

Is the server stats page updating.

I was looking at it and the last sorties displayed are a month old or more? maybe I am just going to the wrong link? Or don't know how to navigate the page?

I looked at trying to do stats on our server. Downloaded and installed all the programs but it is definetely beyond my skill level.

Maybe he can help once he's got it set back up for us.

Are you running the parser for stats on the machine the game is hosted on? Is the game and website hosted on the same machine or IP?

I downloaded the parser and everything to the game server. The website is not on the game server. Should it be? Should the parser and all the other stuff be on the website?

If it needs to all be on the website, then I should wait. We are building a new one with easier access and features. The MySQL database software is probably already built in. Our web guy can add the parser in at that time. { Famous last words.} Our mail and forum stuff will all change.

You have an nfo server like we do now. Why don't you have your RoF Dedicated, website, TS, MySQL, forum, mail and everything on it? Or is that what is happening now? Do you guys own a name for the site like [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ? You can go into the name server and change DNS to NFO name server and everything will be the same.

It doesn't need to be on the same site but it is much more difficult doing it on 2 separate locations.

Yes, we own JG1.org. It is a diferent site.

I was thinking of creating a virtual website on the NFO server and having it linked to from the JG1 website.

I'd have to see the web server control panel, do you guys have cPanel control of the site?

You could FTP the website files and other files installed on your old site. Pay the $2 a month extra for HTML access on NFO server. Recreate all the SQL databases you need. Then go to where you bought name and point it to NFO name servers.

It would take some work but you could running everything on NFO and most likely save the bucks spent on the original website costs.

great idea. I will pass it along.

I will save the log file from tonight. If you want to I will post it using the old stats page. For now this is what I can do. Might be a idea anyway, this way it only shows stats for your meeting nights with JG1.

So if I enter the server and things start out not so good, but go better later can I give you the latter time and not have the earlier stuff count even though I never left the server?

I can take a look at it. Its just a log-parser that posts to apache right?

I believe the server log time was 20:00:00 hours to 22:02:00. That is the range of server times displayed in screen shots. Server time is set to the local time zone of the physical location.

Central Time because its in Illinois.

Well I think I got it going I am seeing data in there now and the site is running. I have to wait until it finishes reading all the logs into the DB to be sure and then we need to change the link on the web site.
