Server Issues

Please use this forum to report server issues, eg: "the server is down" or "extremely laggy on 'X' mission". This is not the place to discuss missions or scenarios you want to see or fly in.

Sorry. 1600EST had to reboot. Should only be a couple minutes.

Had Lag issues on 12/17/12...was monitoring server....Pings shot from the 60,s to the 400,s across the board.lag was Bad ...sps was low 30,s steady..approx 16 players in server
Map was Lake 18....

Not sure if this was a map problem or not...

You will have to run it again will alot of players. SPS 30 should be ok yet. Did the pings stay high 400 for a longtime? I would run it again and note game time, could be something spawning causing it or a server Internet issue at the time. What time real time was it? 2000EST?

This map played smoothly on another server a couple weeks ago. The lag seemed to occur when the majority of the 16 players were conducting Air-to-ground and air-to-air ops within 10sq km or so...as the map is designed that way.

In short...unflyable for me.

Pings fluctuated according to my above observation. It must have been around 2130-ish

Ping being 400ms is most likely due to something on my end here on the server. If a high convergence area is seeing a lot of players at one time then it could be that too like you said. Keep in mind too if you have one player that is pinging at 500ms or even more it will lag everyone in the game. Did you have everyone at 60ms or so and one player at 200ms or higher maybe? This one player interacting with allot of other players in the same area will raise lag allot.

I would say run it again and see how it is.

Ring stepped out of the mission and went to teamviewer. At the times when Players converged he said all the players' pings jumped to the 400's

I'll check it out as best I can from here. Maybe a log file has something. Either the processor was being over worked causing a latency in/out or in/out has an issue for some reason. I wil stress test the server and get some numbers. I would like to be around and see what is going on with the server when it happens. Text me when you are flying Flat. Can we run this missio again and try and populate it?

If you would like to test it this wen night, I am sure thet JG1 would help.

When we tested the JG1 server we had 30 people all at the same drome flying in a circle shooting flares at eachother. Very pretty.

Monday is our low attendance time. Will try and round up the ussual suspects and see how it goes. Real test of server would probably be Wen. More of us and more others roaming around that would join if they see people on.
