| S! All I have uploaded the Finali description and updated the rules to reflect our discusion regarding the next series, the battle of Cambrai. The finali for this series will also be a big tank push but with some new features. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]For our next series based on the battle of Cambrai we has a few modifications. new missions described in updated rules : Trench Mapping Sabotour drop off / pick up Target modifications: Allies will not have German bridges as targets. Allieds need bridges for tanks in Finali. Ships will move and have no icon- similar to trains. Either a German train or a ship will be active at any one time, not both. Due to limitations of train tracks. Recon targets will be bigger, easier to see and identify. Allied recon targets will progress from the rear and move towards the front to show a build up. New targets. A small factory with Icon will replace German bridges and Allied ships as a static target for bombers only. These are assembly shops not really factories. Road junction with Icon will replace German ships as a static target for bombers only. | |

| S!
Cambrai is behind canals. Entente powers would not bomb the bridges because they need them to move tanks and men accross. Central Powers were over run so fast, they did not have time to blow up bridges. Cental powers can not bomb their own bridges. Tanks can not be stopped by this. Tanks can only be stopped by bombs or artillary. We would like to have the battle decided by combat rather than a fault in the game.
The goal is to have 4 sessions for a build up useing the existing front and targets. The finali will be a massive Entente push to the very doors of Cambrai useing historical battle lines.
Will post a map and more info after we finish this Wen.

| We salute our friends and enemies across the mud. This was an intense tournament hard fought on both sides and came down to the last mission to eek out a real squeaker. I had no idea how the ground war was going amid the fog and smoke, and just hoped for the best. Can't wait for Cambrai! | |

Salute guys! That was an awesome tourney, and I can't wait to turn it into a full blown event. Everything seemed really balanced from our ends, and I hope that you all had a great time. Add a few more squadrons into this, and I think we're going to have quite the event. Congrats on your victory! - No.42_stubby14 wrote:

Hi Stubby, It just says you were downed by ground fire, not that you were killed.

If you look at the detail page it says you were shot down, not killed. On the end of game tally sheet from the museum, you will not see a headstone by your name. That is why air victories are greater than deaths.
Your plane was probalt hit by flak or machine gune fire from the ground.

| 1 Rules
Were they to vague or confusing? I think it was pretty straight forward, the re-fly thing might stand a bit more clarification I found we were questioning ourselves on a few occasions. Is there something we overlooked? I was wondering if we could get a respawn set up like they use in BA3 with automatic timers for refly?
Scoring is to confusing? Not for me.
2 Planes
Were the match ups ok? Fine from my point of view.
Was unlocked fuel ok? I think this is only an issue from the German side since for whatever reason I assume it’s the use of water cooled engines, the German crates don’t suffer as much from a full fuel load. The Entente turn fighters are all rotaries and can’t turn if they are loaded beyond about 60%
Was unlocked weapons ok? No problem for us :)
3 Targets
Too hard to find or identify? The trucks were hard to find but the challenge was the same for both sides, I am glad we didn’t have to spot those tanks!! I don’t think I saw a single one. I think the Entente had it A LOT easier on the last mission due to the fact that we were hunting fixed targets that could be killed by MG’s We may want to balance that or justify this advantage / disadvantage by previous mission scoring?
Too easy / hard to kill? N/A for me as a scout.
Too many / not enough? N/A for me as a scout.
Any missions too hard to understand? Ask the bombers, we just fly around and follow them scratching ourselves.
Any mission too dificult to be worth doing? N/A for me as a scout.
Need more or less missions?
4 Map
Too large / small ?
Need to vary weather more? I like a little variation in the weather but not like we had in BA3, Its really not all that fun if 25% of your planes bugger up just taking off. I think what we had was perfect.
Enemy bases too close to the front? Not at all
5 Game experience
Was the start procedure and target information too confusing? nope
Did the air combat feel exciting? It was for me.
Was there an imbalance in the air combat? Seemed pretty balanced based on the stats.
Anyone want to volunteer to put sugar in Hawgs fuel tank? I’ll take this as a compliment :)
Would you recommend this typ of mission and rules to others? Without a doubt!

| Well there was some confusion among our members about the scoring. It may be a matter of getting presented ideas mixed with final solution type thing. Some suggestions on targets and points. I never was clear on the why of the idea that a side was in the dark on what targets of theirs to defend unless they scouted their own side and why no knowledge of the train and convoy routs. But with that there were clearly easier and more difficult targets as some were more consistently taken out while others were rarely hit. I'm not sure anyone ever found and destroyed the trucks. So my thought is to base points of targets both on resources required to take them out, and difficulty in finding them. This would encourage more effort expended on targets that would tend to be ignored. As to that last game. Since kills are not scored in the outcome there was no reason for that pilot I started strafing in the last 15 minuets to exit. If he was only there to take pics of the final screen I would have let him re-spawn without foul. I'm sure there were enough planes left to get him to the end of the game. | |

if you check the parser, there are about 6 events with the same time stamp. It list you as dead and then lists you as finished and finally crashed. I am not sure how the parser decides to put what message in what order.

Pilots on the ground are not supposed to exit if under fire. Will check on that. Likewise pilots that land behind enemy lines do not refly. They may be alive but are considered captured.

Don't get too concerned. He was sitting on his home aerodrome and we had something like 15 minutes left. A couple of us that were nearby guarding three tanks that had been under attack spotted him sitting there and decided it would be a nice diversion to say hello. We got a good laugh when he exited and didn't think ill of him for it other than we lost some target practice. It was then Hawg decided to take 2 others and go suppress your other drome while I circled that one. One of your guys did plead in chat to be allowed to spawn for end of game pics without being strafed.
There is an idea. Include an aero outside the combat zone for each side to spawn in for end game pics. Make it unavailable until the last 5 minutes.

You can hit spectate. Because there are no cameras it gives you a generic split screen of 2 diferent landscapes, not part of the game. It will display text messages and subtitles. So, no problem with end game ppictures.
