Signup for Wednesday's first mission vs JG1

Server launch at 2050 (8:50pm) EDT, Mission Hard launch 2100 (9:00pm) EDT. Two hours maximum.

This is a "Dead is Dead" tournament for No.42 Sqn and JG1 pilots only! If you die, you are out for the night.

**IMPORTANT NOTE: No plan survives contact with the enemy! As long as we all keep this genral plan in mind as what we want to collectively do, that is all we can ask for. If that happens, much of it will come to pass and that will be good. Flight leads have fun and stay in contact, and let's all have some fun!**

Rooster- escort Gr1 and 2; drop 1 plane at enemy bomber base to watch/harrass.

NavyJake- 1 plane to defend artillery from spotters, rest to partol between south aerodrome and south edge of map.

Green
Space- Gr1- recon easternmost areas as shown. (Recon will take bombs in case other Recon gets the shot.) 2nd mission: With 2nd spotter if possible make arty spotting mission. Else make 2x crossings for spotting mission.
Zed- Gr2- recon, cut south from just before river confluence in contact with red. (Recon will take bombs in case other Recon gets the shot.) 2nd mission: With 2nd spotter if possible make arty spotting mission. Else make 2x crossings for spotting mission.
Stubby14- Gr3 lead- attack game targets and targets of opportunity, recon for HQ and vector in Gr1/2 if found; same, coordinate with Red.
Lexx- Gr3

Do we know which map we will be flying this week, or is that random?

As random as I want it to be. A or B is up me...but targets still activate randomly. We ran B last week, so probably A this week. I guess we need the A map above eh?

Sounds good. I haven't been on the defending side of things too much against JG1 so does anyone have any insight as to what altitude you think they'll be coming in at for artillery spotting and/or recon? I'd like to get my flight (hopefully it's more than just me) at as high an altitude as possible without being too high to be effective. Do we know how high they normally send their two seaters?

Recon is between 1500m and 2500m.
Arty spotting is between 750m and 1250m.

Remember they send their Albies over for all but the recon missions.

I propose the following for Blue Flight.

Since we might be limited to either 2 or 3 Aircraft…

You fly between 750m and 1250m and attempt to intercept the artillery recon as out lined on the map by Space.

I will fly between 1500m and 2500m and attempt to intercept the recon searching for our active HQ.

When Awde arrives he will patrol between 1500m and 2500m and attempt to intercept any bombers coming in low to hit our other out lined target.

Intel is that Central Powers sends in flights of Albatross to hit targets of opportunity and harass.

We will be spread real thin, so call for assistance once something is spotted. Obviously don’t engage unless you have a decided advantage, and always remember about those marauding Albatross are just a TS call away.

We will fly the Pup and remember it can out climb the Albatross and is slightly faster 4000m and below, but just barely. Fuel will be 75% as for combat endurance is 2hr 30 min, and cruise is 3hr 30 min, so that should keep us in the game...

Semiauto is Red flight, may I politely ask when he was moved to Blue flight and why that is news to me?
I see Hawg also made the move... did I miss the meeting?
No Bandy, no Hawg, no Semi... that leaves 2. Skeeter and I will have to do the best we can I guess. There will be no drop away from the package for harassment, we will need to stay together as long as we can.
Any pilots transferring to Blue will wear the Blue Flight skin and report directly to NavyJake. If you want Skeeter also I will do it myself.
