| Hello again and Salute to the fourty deuces for giving the Wargrounds a mighty shaking, out of the gate with a bang, this month has seen some very exciting action. It has come to my attention however that the competition that our squads have drawn to the Wargrounds has seriously depleted participation on the Syndicate server,I wondered if supporting both servers by alternating the Saturday Smackdowns between them both would be something you guys would support? Any and all thoughts are appreciated, oh and one more thing, Flatspin can you reassign Hawg to balloon observer duty, it would really help bring down my relife numbers, just kidding. Superfun flying against you guys, more skillful and honorable opponents would be hard to find. | |

| LOL! Hawg's gone deaf from his Artillery days before being assigned to the Flying Corps, so most orders go unnoticed. Usually we just pantomime where the enemy was last seen and pull the chocks out from his wheels and get out of the way!
As for The SYNDICATE: well, that's a hard sell, as most of us dislike the radar-guided ack-ack. What's more frustrating is the placement of targets that require close-in attack but are covered by hyper-accurate battalions of AA.
I have noticed talk of our standing on the Wargrounds Stats, so it has become a new venue for squad pride.

| I would like to say that flying on Syndicate for us lawnmowers is just not fun. You get blasted at every target by flak that even at todays standards is incredible. That is all I will say about that. | |

| Yeah, sorry I have no plans to return until they, (SYNDICATE), make the modifications necessary to warrant our participation. As Flatspin said it's the Radar-Guided Ack-Ack.

| To Flatspin, HAhahahaha, thats funny, unleashing the dogs of war so to speak, in response to your concerns,I do realize the AA fire on there is very deadly, our own Herr Baurnopher ended a 40 kill streak from friendly AA fire, I witnessed the sad event.I also know of a new balloon flare and fire control system that is under development at J5 where flares are launched in the threat direction and AA fire accuracy is significantly decreased once the balloon has been downed, due to the loss of balloon observers fire direction and coordination, I know it needs further testing, perhaps one day soon we can set up a practice mission on the J5 server using it and invite you chaps over for a test, I will raise this idea at this weeks practice. As always your thought and views are much appreciated and respected, also check 6 guys I think theres some huns about to bounce you out of 2nd place, ~S~ | |

| I think some if it is the game system it self. I was flying 10 feet off a river, below tree level and I was still getting pasted by flack.
There is not such thing as line of sight in RoF. :(

S! You might be interested in something we developed but never implemented. "Chain Home Defense" Each balloon has 4 zones around it. Each zone triggers the balloon to fire a different colored flare to denote North South East West. A wall of zones (no balloons)protects the north and south borders. These zones have the balloons along the front fire a specific color combo for either north or south. This affectively lets you know where an enemy crosses your lines. We did not make the north or south lines of zones distinguish from enemy crossing into or out of friendly territory or how deep they are behind the lines but it could easily be done by using a different flare combo and some additional zones. The theory was that ground spotters would see enemy planes and telephone HQ. HQ would telephone the balloons. In case Balloons were shot down a backup ground unit would perform the flare signals. This also provides the HQ as a target to be killed and shut down the information from ground observers. This works only on servers where pilots know what the color combos stand for. Even if you listed the combos in the mission description on open servers, people would not bother to read them and then constantly wonder or ask why so many colors from balloons. Eventually someone will post on the boards how cool it is. You will have to restrain yourself from calling them an idiot because you listed what the combos stand for on the boards 3 months earlier. This may or may not be easier than getting the balloons to fire in different directions.
