[img] [/img] THE PLANDue to the nature of the missions all 3 scout flights will be split between the 2 scout airfields. Flight leaders will determine 2 plane elements. Aside from trench and arty escorting all SE5s will stay over friendly territory. ====================== Blue Flight, the two SE5s from the north field will cover the arty plane and the two from the south field will cover the trench plane. After the escort duties are over the flight will find our active bridge and defend it. (Highlighted with green circles.) Ideally each member of the flight should investigate a bridge to discover the active at the earliest time. If the bridge is lost reinforce one of the other flights. The 2seaters will change to green flight. The trench mapper will be the first plane to roll at the Brisfit drome, and he will start his roll while the flare is in the air. The Arty spot will roll second. Both will proceed directly to their mission start points and begin, no waiting. Escorts will intercept them as quickly as possible. The escorts will stay in close. With only two planes they are there to tell the package when to run, or hopefully in the trench plane case, to disrupt any attempts before they can be made. Full combat should be unnecessary and avoided. The enemy will have to be ahead of or above the trench plane to cause it to break off from mapping. If they come in slightly below or slightly ahead, such as the 2 o clock position, than 1 pass by the escort will be plenty to keep the trench plane safe. Even a high enemy slightly behind only needs to be turned off it's attack once. If an SE5 positions just behind and below and takes pot shots with an elevated Lewis gun, that would be enough to force the attacker out of range. So the escort needs to understand not to warn off the trench plane unless the enemy is in the cone of a real threat. ====================== Red Flight will patrol possible enemy ingress points (North) in grids 23 charlie to 29 alpha, and (South) grid 17 alpha to charlie. (Red Ovals) They will patrol these areas up to 30 minutes from the game start flare but no later. They will then proceed to each of the 4 probable spy plane landing zones marked in orange on the previously posted map. One plane will patrol each area looking for a low flying or landed 2seater. If you see a 2seater it's almost certainly the spy plane. They have only 1 spy plane per game and it only needs to be damaged so an immediate attack under any conditions is warranted, but not ordered. However, the rest of the flight should be informed on contact. Your in friendly territory so any means of getting on the ground without a death keeps you in the game. Once the spy plane is dispatched the flight is free to conduct itself as needed. ====================== Gold Flight 3 will find our active HQ ASAP and patrol it at the altitude required for the recon photo. Patrol the HQ at the height required to get photos. (5000’ to 8000’) This puts you at risk to high escorts, but patrolling higher will make it more likely the recon plane can sneak through. Your speed advantage and the reluctance of the escort to get too far from their charge should enable a cat and mouse with them until one of you gets a shot at the recon plane. Remember you need only damage it to keep it from completing it’s mission. Don’t forget there are 3 recon planes available so returning to your CAP is more important than pursuing a damaged recon. As for enemy scouts, it does not serve us if one is killed and we lose a scout plane and especially a pilot. Recommend search patterns 1 North drome to middle of grid 22, to middle of grid 21, to middle of grid 20. 2 North drome to middle of grid 28, to middle of grid 27, to middle of grid 26. 3 South drome to middle of grid 4, to middle of grid 3, to middle of grid 2. 4 South drome to middle of grid 16, to middle of grid 15, to middle of grid 14. These HQ locations can be spotted a grid away. Determining their active requires closer inspection. It shouldn’t take long to find the active I consider GOLD Flights assignment the most difficult and hazardous. Good luck gentlemen! Green Flight will be lead by Space, and will go after the 5 targets in the backfield. Space will determine ingress, egress, and deployment of green flight. You will be without escort. Good luck, and do your usual great job.

| Heh!... Geezer gets no rest in the ribs department... we make damned sure of that!
Gold: I'll lead north section, WhiteAce will take south AOR If we are a three-flight (Geezer being out this evening), Ace will be the lone wolf because I NEED the help of a second set of eyes, wings, and guns... Ace, well, he can win an entire war on his own; God help the hun who crosses his airspace!
Green can retain Bayo's services if that is where he is most needed, but Gold could use the 4th man... again, only if green can spare him without disturbing the offensive element of tonight's plan.
Understood that Gold's job tonight is to find/protect HQ, and not to hare-off chasing decoys/wounded enemy.

| FANTASTIC JOB! guysAll the planning in the world doesn't amount to a thing if you don't have the team to carry it out. 1st rate performance by all! We didn't just slam them in our scoring. I think we had them totally discombobulated by our defense and offense. They will be spending the next week wondering "How did they do that?!?" Thank you for all your hard work preparing to accomplish this resounding victory! | |

| From the XO..
Excellent performance. Well conceived, well lead and well executed.
I am proud of this squad and our great friends the Wing Walkers.
Now, it's NOT over...we won a battle, not the war.
Let's hope we're pounding each other on the back next week this time.
I'm buyin'...belly up lads!

| Great Job everyone! Yay me for finding this thread! Didn't know we were allowed into the 42 private stuff. Like Duff says, keep your heads in it. Things can turn around that quick. | |

| Well Done to Everyone. Green Flight I am pleased that we all blasted the hell out of them in a short amount of time. We were surprised that they had a CAP out, but I am very happy that you all were great and Flybert getting 2 air kills while bombing the train. YOKE even destroyed trucks on his first night in FiF. Flat and Space got the Recon done even though we lost Space to the surprise CAP. Zed and Mick did great finding and hurting the Convoy until backup arrived. Those Tanks are tough. Again well done to all. | |

| Took 1 for the Gipper. Dropped to ID our active bridge and was dropped onto by the 4 or so as they came in to hit the bridge. Shudda looked up and around before I looked down. It also appeared to me that they approached from the N or NE. Glad everything turned out well in the end. | |

| S! Same for me Bandy. Out early as I made my run at the barge. Jumped from above ... should of looked first as well. Barge went down along with me, though. | |
