Dayton Event to Plan for in 2014

September 26-28, 2014 — Commemorating 100 years since the beginning of WWI.

You guys need a yearly get together like we do at Tailhook. It's a real bonding time. You can call it Canvas Caravan

We'll see who's got the power for a good LAN! But I agree...a face-to-face drunken hooplah is some great bonding indeed!

In '07 we had 30 machines flying Red Baron in the conference room at the hotel, and another 10 machine LAN on the flight line at the Dawn Patrol airshow, compliments of J9Tiger and numerous RB enthusiasts- fantastic time!

I would like to see a yearly get together but it may not be affordable for a number of members... unless it is moved around so as to be more affordable for those on the coasts. Then not everone would be able to get there every year.... I dunno, would be great fun though.
Just as a reminder Mrs Rooster is an ex travel agent and would like to offer her services as the time nears. She can handle it for everyone or on an individual basis.

Glad to have Mrs Rooster handle the travel arrangements...I ain't doing it again...that's for sure!

I think an annual or Semi-annual LAN party or other meeting would be great! What AG-51 does is a LAN party every year at a different location, just like Rooster suggests. About a third of their active pilots make it each year. I know we took over a hotel conference room one year, a member's garage another.

It is great fun and a great way to really stick together...until somebody switches games on you! ;)

This year was kind of nice for most guys. It was in Huntsville, AL in which only 3 of us had to fly in and 8 drove to the event. Normally we have it in a members garage but this year Fireball had it in his living room. Next year is Medesto, CA. Tuesday-Sunday, what a blast meeting new members and friends.

Great fun, you guys should consider it seriously.

This is getting better everyday... I do hope we can all meet up.   

I think putting faces on the TS voices we hear is huge! I am still friends with and flying with people I met years ago and credit that to meeting them face-to-face (and tossing back copious amounts of adult beverages, of course).

It is an incredible experience! Back at the '07 Dawn Patrol I met and hung out with peeps from RB that I never thought I would have, but having a good bit of our crew there will be even more amazing!
