Medal Winners Official Skins

Thus we start on another skinning adventure! All medal winners will receive their choice of 1 skin for 1 airplane. There are NO rules. The skins do not have to have the No.42_Squadron base skin as a starting point. You won the medal, you design the skin!

The current design artist is YOKE. I will be providing the text file and do the posting on ROF.

Thanks to Shnoze_Shmon for his assistance on the CP skins.

I put the RAC wings on my IL2 paints and kept the squad ID in front of my name until I joined 42.  I've wanted to fly with some form of the RAC wings ever since I renewed my interest in RoF a little over a year ago.  

Now I can!

Spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I wanted to incorporate personal references or N0.42 identifiers, but I finally decided not to.

I decided this would not just be my paint.  By not personalizing it I'm making a gift to all the old members of RAC that fly in RoF.  They can put it on and feel 100% like it's theirs.


Hopefully, No.42 will eventually inspire the sentimentality RAC did.

Gentlemen Pilots of ROF,

The No.42_Squadron proudly asks your approval for a skin that designates our recruits. We ask all potential pilots to fly with us for 3 outings. After that time HQ, based on member input decides if the pilot will be offered Recruit Status. This is not based on performance or abilities but on interest and condition of game, comms, time zone and if they're fun to fly with.

If accepted as a recruit we call it 'putting on the pink'. This references a pink TuTu and slippers and is totally tongue-in-check fun! To further add to the 'fun we submit this skin.

Ok, We're off on another skinning adventure. Honestly, I really have doubts that we'll ever see these. 777 is still having troubles with skins and no time or manpower to help! I sent Panther a PM and have not received and answer in the last 3 weeks
