For meritorious service while assigned to Red Flight in RFC No.42 Squadron, Bandy did support squad operations by the following citation:

While in combat operations against the enemy in the defense of England, Flanders in Flames XVIII, Bandy skillfully destroyed 4 enemy planes over the course of the campaign. As a matter of routine, Bandy hunted and struck down the enemy wherever he found them. The destruction of these 4 enemy aircraft over British soil ensured their removal from hostilities permanently. His performance of duty reflects great credit upon himself, No.42 Squadron and the British Empire.

As the Commanding Officer of the No.42_Squadron, I commend you for your efforts and in recognition from a sincerely grateful command staff and the pilots of the No.42_Squadron award you the Military Medal.
