We lost one of our long time squadmates a few weeks ago and will be having a memorial in his honor next Tuesday evening performing the missing man formation in the Il2 simulation.
If Squadron 42 is interested in sending one or two pilots to observe, you are welcome to attend. Please send me a PM if you are interested and I will give you the particulars.
Thanks guys.
Rest in peace, Ian. We miss you. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I am so sorry for your loss Glider. I hope the ceremony will give his online family some comfort.
If I still had a working copy of IL2 I would attend. I remember when FA_Intruder died years ago, the memorial was beautiful.
Salute to you all.

Yes Geezer, I add my condolences.
FWIW, I was FA in the day and knew Intruder well. I flew in the flight of FA's that landed as the Missing Man flew overhead. I had never experienced the emotions of online PRIDE and SORROW as strongly as that night. FA was to never be the same without Intruder. I left FA a year or so later because of time zone and command change issues.
I will never forget that night or the perfect symmetry as we touched down as if welded together and the MM formation flew overhead.
R.I.P. Ian
