Great Failsafe way when your Installing/Updating your video drivers
This works with XP/Vista/Win 7 32/64bit operating systems
Ok first thing is go get Driver Sweeper

DOWNLOAD>  Driver Sweeper from http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/

DOWNLOAD> The lastest nVidia driver for your card and OS system http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

First open up your C drive and you should see the NVIDIA Directory "unless you told it to install some place else", now open up the folder named WinVista64 or 32 "depending on your os" and you should see a driver Ver. folder 162.22 for example Leave this window open.

Vista and Windows 7
1. Unplug your computer from the net by unplugging your ethernet cable or disabling wireless, then right click on Computer-->Properties-->Device Manager
1b. Or go to click Start-->Control Panel->Programs and Features RMB on NVIDIA Graphics Driver *skip to step 6*
2. Click on Device Manager
3. Expand Dislpay Adapters
4. Right Mouse Button over the Video card Name
5. Select Uninstall, Click Delete the driver software for this Device
6. Do not reboot
7. With new technologies from nvida from Physx, 3D Vision, or their gpu audio whatever extra you have installed you will want to uninstall them in your control panel in programs in features *Older OS's add/remove programs*
8. Now That Window I told you to leave open with the NVIDIA directory now Delete your Driver Version Folder Example "162.22" then empty recycle bin after deleating the file.
8. REBOOT
9. Restart in Safe mode, Use the F8 key while your rebooting to do so select Safe Mode.
10. Now run Driver Sweeper "be sure to run as administrator"
11. Make sure you tell it to Remove your NVIDIA Display Drivers, along with Physx, nothing else or your sound or other drivers will uninstall.
12. Once it is finished Reboot. Once in XP/Vista/Win 7 reboots it will just reinstall a generic VGA adapter don't worry, at least its not the nvidia one.
13. Now Install the latest Video Drivers for your card. Your safest bet are the ones on the EVGA support Site. "links below" Make sure you do the custom/advanced install so you can choose what drivers you want to install.
*Side Note be sure to NOT install nvidia audio drivers if your using an onboard sound card, or a sound card, or a usb sound system, it is also a good idea to go into device manager, click on sound, Video and Game Controllers, you will see High Definintion Audio Device disable them this will help you with other problems that can come up. Also dont bother installing any 3d Vision software if you are not using 3d vision better to trim off the fat.*
14. Once it is finished installing REBOOT
15. Happy Gaming
