A little about myself. ...
I am 47 and have a lifelong interest in WWI aviation and after joining the various WWI journals in the late '80s I began to wonder what the aircraft looked like in colour. I then started to do a series of watercolour profiles on 5x8 file cards. At the 1994 OTF seminar in Ottawa these served as an introduction to the community and since 1997 I have been published in the various WWI journals (CCI; OTF; Windsock & Datafiles; WWI AERO) as well as books by Flying Machines Press and Schiffer among others. In 1997 I also switched to doing the illustrations on computer and have been doing so ever since. Two years ago Jack Herris and I did "The Essential Guide to WWI Aircraft" which has just been reprinted and can be found by doing online searches for Jack's name - I bought a few of them from bookdepository.co.uk for $28 Cdn SHIPPING INCLUDED.

For the past 12 years I have been selling a CD of my WWI illustrations and I just completed the latest version of "Aircraft Colours and Markings of the WWI Era". This contains over 2000 illustrations organized by country, unit and then chronologically. Besides being organized by unit, each county also has a section that is organized by aircraft type and cross-referenced to any other country also using the same aircraft type. This CD is available for $50 USD/Cdn, 40 Euros or 30GBP payable via Paypal to bpearson ( at ) kaien.net There is an online preview of the previous v.2 which was done in 2005 at cbrnp.com/RNP/CDv2/index.htm

In 2005 I finally got around to getting RedBaron when my Mac died and I then joined AB' - a month later I was Recruiting officer and a year later I was CO. Among my 'accomplishements while the former was to recruit CJ and PhineasPhule among others into our ranks. FOr now I am enjoying flying in RoF and look forward to meeting the various recruits to RAF25

Update on the book "Essential Guide to WWI Aircraft"

When I first ordered it from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on May 15th it was $26 per book. My second order on May 26th was $28 per book and when I checked earlier today it was $35. Therefore if anyone is interested in buying it, they had best do so ASAP. When the price hits $100, I'll start to offer my recent copies for sale :-)

Actually, I am going to gift a couple of them to local school libraries in the hope they can interest a future generation

OMG this book is nothing short of PHENOMENAL!!! If your interest in WWI aviation is even a little bit more than "a little bit" you have GOT to see this book!! Extremely detailed and exhaustive in scope.

Well done Coleslaw!

Thanks for the comments Flatspin. Don't forget that there is a CD with over 2500 illustrations like those in the book as well as some top views available as well. I have just completed the first update to v.3 (v.3.01) which has an additional 70 or so new illustrations added as well as revisions to the Halberstadt CL.II, DFW C.V and Sopwith Dolphin sections. The intent is to eventually make downloadable updates available to anyone who has the base v.3 (or later CD).

Everyone please take note that there is no E in my game name. .. it is COLSLAW and was based on Collishaw not the salad. I needed a name fast when I first loaded RedBaron and sorta local boy Collishaw immediately came to mind. Having said that, some in RB3D did shorten it to salad or cabbage ... :-)

Bump as I had an email from a squad member asking about the current availability. .

I have been buying them from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for between $22-$28 per copy, but I see they are out of stock as well and I have sold/given away all my extra copies except for one that is earmarked for when the 7 year old is a bit older to appreciate it (she has been asking when she gets it for the last year).

However a quick search of my usual haunts shows that there is one on ebay for $37
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Abebooks has one for $24.86
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

and another for $28.95

PS. . just a note that the first two posts in this thread were also by me, Duff4r was good enough to copy them over from the previous squadron forum when No.42 was formed

Dunno, the second printing came as a surprise to Jack and I and there is supposedly a paperpack edition as well. They keep popping up at thebookdepository - I bought a dozen of them last year for less than my author's discount from Amber
