PostSubject: FlightFX for Rof   Sat Feb 09, 2013 10:00 pm

From the Rof Forum,

I'm running this and it works very good. Only thing I have found is it kills the TS overlay.

Download FlightFX here: FlightFX

1. Download and install FlightFX.

2. Launch FlightFX app and create a profile for your ROF install by telling FlightFX where you have installed the ROF.exe.

3. On the Profile Manager tab check the Enable SweetFX box to enable it for your ROF install. When you check the box, FlightFX installs all the necessary files into your ROF folder and sub-folders. When you uncheck the box, it removes those files from your ROF folder and sub-folders.

4. Then click on Edit SweetFX Settings button.

5. While on the FX Settings tab click the Load From button and select the SweetFX_ROF_settings preset. This will give you a good starting point for further tweaking. Make any changes you wish and remember that you do not need to apply anything. it writes the changes on the fly.

7. Minimize FlightFX and start ROF and you should see your SweetFX settings in-game. You can Alt-Tab between ROF and FlightFX to make real-time changes just as you have done before with the .txt file.

Make sure to read the included Readme. You can access it by hitting the Help button.

Note: Program which keys do what on the Profile Manager tab before you fly with FlightFX. Choose keys that do not conflict with other programs or controls within ROF itself. To see any new changes you made you'll need to refresh the shader. The "key-code" is the technical key # Windows uses for the button you chose. Just place your mouse cursor in the box and press a key to assign.

I don't understand what this will do for me.

See if this helps.

The above two links explain what the program does.

It does this without a hit to your FPS, see photos.

Nice!!

Notes:

1.) Once a ROF profile is created and SweatFX is enabled, FlightFX is automatically running whenever you start ROF! No need to start it everytime! There a 4 presets or, 'You can Roll Your Own'.

2.) You will lose all your overlays TS & FRAPs, as that's what this really is, a mask that improves your graphics without a frame rate hit. Think of it as wearing 'Rose Colored Glasses'.

3.) This can work with any other video game. Just create a profile.

Thanks for being the front guy on this NavyJake :}

Duff,

My FRAPs stills works, TS doesn't, but it is worth it.

Great explanation 'Rose Colored Glasses'. Big Grin

Navy,
I was actually using the EVGA PrecisionX for FRs instead of FRAPS. Yes FRAPS does work and by enforcing 'Framebuffer Sharing' so does my PrecisionX utility.

TS Overlay does not work.

This thing is pretty dang cool! I am also using it in IL-2

OBTW - I am using the 'ROF settings.txt' and SMAA_PRESET_ULTRA...What are you using?

~S~ hey Duff4r sir , where is this frame buffer sharing thingy you mentioned.
I use PrecisionX as well and would like to still be able to monitor while in game.

SMAA_PRESET_HIGH

I hadn't pushed it to ULTRA yet, tomorrow, I'll be on ULTRA.

S!

Tried FlightFX. Took a huge hit to fps. Disabled FlightFX and everything is back to normal.

Rooster,

Just a thought, did you uncheck the box so FlightFX isn't applied when you open the program. I don't have it it front of me but it is on the right side of the window for Flight FX, unchecked the game should run as it normally does.
